Lewis, the founder of Vivid Tanzania Safaris, was born in the remote Massai village of Engaruka. He grew up surrounded by cattle, goats and the stunning scenery of the Great Rift Valley wall. From a young age, he knew he wanted to work in the tourism industry and share his unique Maasai culture and Tanzania’s incredible nature and wildlife with the world. Lewis studied Wildlife Management in Tanzania, and has worked as a Kilimanjaro guide, safari driver and Massai village experience tour leader for more than 15years.

Best Safari Adventure
On our Safari Adventure, you will be immersed in the East African wilderness. You will travel on rough adventurous roads, pass tiny rural settlements, and see fascinating landscapes and abundant wildlife.
All your senses will be involved; from smelling early morning coffee, and experiencing the thrill of a kill to the chill of a morning game drive.
Great Wildebeest Migration
One of the most sought-after experiences for wildlife and nature enthusiasts, the Great Migration is the ever-moving circular migration of over a million animals across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. The constant movement of columns of wildebeest, joined by a host of companions, follow an age-old route in search of grazing and water. After calving in the southern part of Tanzania’s Serengeti near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the animals journey through the Serengeti up and around in a clockwise direction towards the Masai Mara in Kenya, before returning once again near the end of the year.
Best of Tanzania
While visitors are sure to encounter the famous Big Five on any safari, they should also keep eyes peeled for rare or endangered species like the African wild dog, green sea turtle, Egyptian vulture and various antelope.
Outside of its extraordinary (and compulsory) natural attractions, Tanzania boasts cities and towns filled with history, architecture and superb cuisine. And populating every corner of the country are citizens of some 120 ethnic groups, including the Hadza in the north, the Iraqw of the Great Rift Valley, the Pimbwe of Western Tanzania and (of course) the Maasai in the Serengeti.
Nearly three million years old, the ancient caldera shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens on Earth. Endangered black rhinos are protected within its rim, giant tusked elephants wander the forests, male lions stalk the grasslands and flamingos crowd the soda lake.
